> Medical Billing Associate Certificate
This certificate training program is designed for the specialty area of Medical Billing of the Health Care and Health Insurance fields. It is designed to prepare the student with the in-demand administrative skills and office protocols required in order to compete and perform effectively in the billing area of the health care delivery and medical insurance fields. Medical office staff specializing in billing and insurance reimbursement require a strong familiarity with medical terminology, medical office software, intricately coded medical insurance forms, and the organizational, clerical, interpersonal and computer skills to perform effectively on the job. Medical billing and insurance specialists perform the clerical and management support tasks which keep all medical offices running smoothly, whether these be clinics, hospitals, physician practices, long-term care facilities or insurance companies. There are a total of 269 hours of classroom and lab training. Students may receive up to 6 undergraduate credits and 18.1 CEUs (Continuing Education Units) upon successful completion of the courses. In an accelerated format, this one-year program can be completed in 21 weeks.
