Motorcycle Rider Education Program

 RIDER REGISTRATION FORMS

Welcome to the Connecticut Motorcycle Rider Education Program at Gateway Community College. Motorcycling is one of the most exciting forms of transportation around. Part of the thrill of motorcycling is to know that you are totally responsible for every action taken from timing each shift to keeping a keen eye out for other motorists. To understand these responsibilities and get the most from your experiences, the Connecticut Basic Rider Course is the place to start. This course offers expert instruction for both the beginning and experienced rider.

Motorcycle Rider Courses

Basic Rider Course (BRC)
The BRC is especially suited for individuals with little or no riding experience. The BRC begins with development of the fundamental riding skills of turning, shifting, and braking; then expands these basic skills into more advanced street riding techniques. Training motorcycles, ranging in size from 125cc's to 350cc's, are provided. Helmets are also available as needed. Students MUST attend and participate in ALL sessions, in sequence, with NO exceptions! Any absence will require the student to register for another course, pay again, and start from the beginning. If you know you will miss a session for any reason, please choose another course offering. Students will be registered on a first come, first served basis.
Basic Rider Course Fee:   $200

Experienced Rider Course (ERC)
Even if you've been riding for some time, there's always something new to learn in this 6-hour course. Using your own motorcycle for the ERC, you will have the opportunity to fine tune your riding skills during advanced maneuvers such as stopping in the shortest distance, cornering, swerving, and tight turns.
Experienced Rider Course Fee: $85
