Thank you for your interest in Gateway Community College.

You've made a smart choice. In fact, did you know that the New York Times ranks Gateway Community College among the top colleges and universities in Connecticut for incoming freshmen?

With our many degree programs to choose from, an emphasis on college life and student activities, our winning athletic program, as well as employment and transfer opportunities for graduates, it’s no surprise.

Whether you are just out of high school, attending as a first time college student or are planning to resume your studies after some time away, we are here to help you realize your goals. With over 90 accredited degree and certificate programs and a large selection of continuing education courses, you will find what you need. We are here to help you succeed in realizing your goals, whether they are academic pursuit, career enhancement or personal enrichment.

Gateway’s internationally respected faculty and professional staff are dedicated to your success as you enhance your future through education. We foster a supportive, student-centered environment that adheres to the highest academic standards, while promoting lifelong learning and preparation for employment in a global community. Gateway Community College graduates are employed in some of the country’s leading organizations.

Gateway’s commitment to high-quality instruction extends beyond the classroom. Partnerships with four-year institutions and major corporations enhance your learning experience through transfer agreements and internship opportunities that afford you the opportunity to continue your studies beyond a two-year degree while you gain hands-on experience through internships and work study.

And if you are planning to pursue a bachelor’s degree, attending Gateway Community College for your first two years of college is a wise financial move. An average year of tuition at Gateway costs about $2,600. That’s thousands of dollars less than tuition at the four-year institutions. By completing your general education requirements at Gateway and then transferring to a four year university, you can use your savings toward completing a bachelor’s degree. Gateway Community College has articulation and transfer agreements with leading four-year universities, and Gateway graduates go on to pursue higher degrees at some of the country’s finest institutions including:

American University, Albertus Magnus College, Central Connecticut State University, Charter Oak State College, Clark University, Culinary Institute of America, Eastern Connecticut State University, Fairfield University, Fashion Institute of New York, Fordham University, George Washington University, Greenfield College, Hampshire University, Harvard University, Howard University, Laboratory Institute of Merchandising, NY, The New School, Southern Connecticut State University, Smith College, Springfield College, St. Vincent’s College, University of Bridgeport, University of Connecticut, University of New Haven, Western Connecticut State University, Yale Divinity School, Yale University and Quinnipiac University.
