5. Submit Immunization Form
Full- or part-time students in a degree or certificate program who were born after December 31, 1956, must present proof of adequate immunization against both measles and rubella. Non-degree students registering for 12 or more credits must also provide proof of immunization. Proof includes such documentation as a medical record, a physicians statement or an elementary or secondary school record.
Note: Any Connecticut high school graduate 1999 and beyond is exempt from providing traditional documentation of MMR compliance. Please note: Proof of high school graduation must be on file in order for immunization to be waived. Please call (203) 285-2275 if you have any questions regarding immunization records. Click here to access and download the Immunization Form.
6. Make Appointment for Placement Testing
After being admitted, all students are required to take placement examinations in reading, English, and mathematics. English and mathematics credits earned from an accredited institution of higher education will be reviewed to determine if a student must take the tests. If test results indicate deficiencies, students will be expected to take additional course(s) to increase their capability for success in college-level work. Students whose primary language is not English will take the LOEP (ESL) and Math Placement Test.
- In lieu of taking placement tests, students may provide evidence in the form of college transcript(s), CLEP, Dantes, or Advanced Placement results verifying that they have successfully completed a college-level mathematics and/or English course.
- For Accuplacer placement testing, please call the Center for Educational Services (CES) at (203) 285-2217. You must have your Banner Identification number ready when you schedule an appointment.
We encourage all testing students to take a practice test at http://www.testpreview.com/accuplacer_practice.htm.
Admission of NEBHE Students
The Board of Trustees adopts the following recommendations of the New England Board of Higher Education (NEBHE) for reciprocity among the New England states through the New England Regional Student Program, with the reservation that priorities go to Connecticut students in the event of budget and/or space limitations:
1. Nonresident students whose traveling time would be less if attending a Connecticut community college than if attending a similar instate institution are permitted to attend the Connecticut institution at the NEBHE tuition rate, which is fifty percent above the resident tuition rate, pursuant to section 10a-67 of the general statutes, as amended.
2. Nonresident students who wish to enroll in a Connecticut Community College degree program which does not exist in their home state are permitted to enroll in such program at the NEBHE.
